Basic Computer Operations Training for Model Thana Officials

In the initial phase Basic Computer Operations Training will be provided to 66 personnel of 11 Model Thanas (MTs). It is to be mentioned that six personnel from each MT would participate in the 10 day training programme. Training would be conducted in three groups of 22, with two students per group drawn from each MT. Training programme for the first batch commenced on 10 December 2006. Initial phase training programme is expected to be completed by mid January 2006.

Recently established computer lab in Bangladesh Police (Telecom), Rajarbag, Dhaka has been used for the training programme. It is noteworthy to mention that a local area network (LAN) supporting three desktop computers and a laser printer will be installed in each of the 11 MTs.

 

Refurbishment work in each MT is in progress and is expected to be completed by February 2007. The commissioning of the LAN with computers and printers will be started very soon. This training programme will help them to acquire basic computer operation skills, so that they can utilize the installed computer system effectively.
