To bring the change in management of police stations (thanas) 11 pick-ups and 66 motorcycles handed over to 11 Model Thanas under the Police Reform Programme (PRP). A programme was held on 21 June 2006 at Police Headquarters to hand over the model thana vehicles.

Mr. Abdul Qayyum, IGP was the chief guest of the programme. Mr. Larry Maramis, Deputy Resident Representative of United Nations Development Programme (UNDP); Mr. Mohammad Mohsin, National Programme Director of PRP and Additional Secretary of Ministry of Home Affairs; National Programme Coordinator and former IGP Mr. A.Y.B.I. Siddiqi; Mr. David Wolstenholme, Programme Implementation Specialist (PIS); Additional IG Mr. Chowdhury Qamrul Ahsan were present  among others.               

Representative of UNDP, Mr. Maramis said if the goals achieved from these 11 Model Thanas its activities would be enhanced and replicated among other thanas across Bangladesh.

At the end of the hand over ceremony keys of 11 pick-ups and 66 motorcycles handed over to IGP.
